Lavender Handmade Soap

Shea Butter with Mango Soap

This soap recipe is great for people looking for a soap the rejuvenates their skin.  Shea Butter is known for its many natural healing abilities including healing rashes, moisturizing dry skin, reducing itchy skin, and restoring natural beauty and making the skin look younger.  If you haven’t tried a soap recipe with Shea Butter before I highly recommend trying out this recipe.

Ingredients:

Olive Oil 16 ounces
Coconut Oil 16 ounces
Shea Butter 8 ounces
Mango Butter 8 ounces
Water 17 ounces
Sodium Hydroxide (lye) 6.8 ounces
Optional Fragrance of Your Choice 2 ounces

This recipe will make about 4 pounds of soap product.

Hemp Body Bar Soap

Hemp has been known for its many nutritional benefits including Omega 3 and Omega 6 which promote a healthier body and skin.  Hemp has great anti-inflammatory properties which heal the skin of lesions, inflammation, and dryness.

Ingredients:

Palm Oil 32 ounces
Coconut 76 27 ounces
Hemp Oil 16 ounces
Olive Oil 15 ounces
Vitamin E Oil 10 drops
Sodium Hydroxide 13 ounces
Distilled Water 30 ounces
Essential Oils of Your Choice 4 ounces
Coral Mica Powder 1-2 tsps.

This recipe will make 8 pounds of handmade soap.

Whether you’re an expert soap maker or someone new to the soap making experience, there are many handmade soap recipes for you to find and try out.  There are probably countless recipes you can find at the library and on the internet for you to find and try.  Each one is designed for different smells and also body benefits.  Depending on the ingredients used, you can make handmade soap perfect for your skin type and tone.  So, here are some recipes you should try out as a soap maker.

Mark’s Pumpkin Pizzazz

Mark’s Pumpkin Pizzazz is a great seasonal soap for the fall and the winter months.  (If you have someone in your family that loves pumpkin pie, this soap could be used year round).  This type of handmade soap would be great Christmas present to give to anyone who loves spice cake or pumpkin pie.  This is a very fun soap recipe and so if you want to make a soap that is a little different from what you’ve made before, this a great soap for you.

Ingredients:

Coconut Oil 27%
Olive Oil 25%
Palm Oil 25%
Sweet Almond Oil 8%
Jojoba Oil 8%
Shea Butter 7%

Recipe:

At trace, add 4 oz. of Pumpkin Spice FO either bought online or at a local store and add about 20 scoops of yellow oxide and 2 scoops of red oxide.  To add to some bits of dynamic visual “spice” use dried pumpkin flakes.

Wheat-E Bar with Honey and Almond by Leona Marchand

NaOH 6.85 oz
Wheat Germ Oil 2.4 oz
Spicy Vanilla EO Blend 2.2 oz
Almond Meal 2 tbs.
Vitamin E Oil 0.2 oz
Clover Honey 0.4 oz
Sodium Borate 3/8 tsp.

Nutmeg EO 1.0 oz
Clove Bud EO 0.6 oz
Ginger EO 0.2 oz
Cinnamon Leaf EO 0.1 oz
Cardamom EO 0.1 oz
